SRX21711619: Nanopore sequencing of Escallonia rubra
1 OXFORD_NANOPORE (PromethION) run: 2.8M spots, 26.7G bases, 23.3Gb downloads

Design: High molecular weight DNA was isolated from nuclei pelleted from leaf tissues, sheared to 25 kb with a g-tube (Covaris,Woburn, MA) according to the manufacturer's instructions. DNA was size selected using the Circulomics Short Read Eliminator -XS kit (PacBio, Menlo Park, CA) and sent to the Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research at the University of Florida for Nanopore library construction and PromethIon sequencing.

show Abstracthide Abstract
Escallonia (Escalloniaceae) belongs to the Escalloniales, a diverse clade of flowering plants with impressive morphological and ecological diversity and are widely distributed across three biodiversity hotspots in the Neotropics. To shed light on the genomic substrate of this radiation, the phylogenetic placement of the Escalloniales, and generate useful data for comparative evolutionary genomics across flowering plants, we have produced and annotated draft genomes for two unrelated Escallonia species.
